Thank you to all the many people that helped and supported our charity fund raising this year. We can confirm that over the year we managed to raise over £1400 pounds for various charitable causes and also gave a reasonable food donation to the food bank. Whether you helped set an event up, helped on the day or came and supported us, a big thankyou and congratulations.
The charities we have supported this year were MacMillan, Florence Nightingale Hospice, Operation Agri (supporting subsistence farmers), Smile Train (free cleft lip operations), Pioneers (outreach and agricultural projects) and Aylesbury Food Bank.
As our first big fundraiser this year we are holding a ‘Valentines themed’ coffee morning on 17th February with all funds raised going to Florence Nightingale Hospice.
If you are passionate about a charity we would like to make you an offer. We can only do so much fundraising to support others, but if you are willing to run a fundraising event for a bone fide charity, we will provide the Chapel Hall free and help where we can.
This Chapel was built by local people, is run by local people, and wants to help the local community. The chapel hall is already used by many community groups, but if we can make it available for local people to support others through charitable giving, we will have fulfilled the purpose of the people who originally built it nearly 200 years ago.
If you want to take up the offer, email us on welcome@theunionchapel.co.uk or call us on 01296 813777.
